Google Drive is basically Google's file storage service that allows users to save and share their files across different devices. But now Google Drive has become a new gold mine for cyber criminals and those involved in piracy. Google's service is storing free software licenses, movies, games and porn content for free.
Cyber security researcher Rajshekhar Rajharia said, “About 80 percent of Google Drive movie links are to malware. Like other file-sharing websites, Google Drive allows them to quickly download illegal and detailed content on their platforms. Malware can be installed on your PC or mobile with one wrong click. ”
Cyber security researcher Rajshekhar Rajahari claims that thousands of illegal and detailed content in zipped compressed file formats are being spread through Google Drive.
Rajaharia added, “Apart from thousands of porn videos, at least 25,000 to 30,000 links to malware, software, movies, games and many more illegal things are being shared. One can easily find such links in Google Drive. Just do a search and download as you wish. However, it is seen that the same movie, game, software has been removed from Google search due to copyright infringement. ”
Business Insider wanted to know if Google Drive has such content at all, or if it is being shared. But Google has not commented on this.
Google states in its Terms of Service, “We may review the content to determine if it is invalid or in violation of our program policy, and may delete or refrain from showing that content if it appears to be in violation of our policies. However, this does not mean that we review content, please do not assume that we do.
