Mobile phone numbers of Facebook users are being sold in Telegram

Danger to be smart! Again, questions are being raised about data protection on Facebook. According to a report from Motherboard, the mobile phone numbers of about 500 million Facebook users are going to be sold through telegram bots. All of this information was shared by security researcher Alan Gaul, who first raised the issue on his Twitter account. According to that information, about 500 million Facebook users are unaware of this.

According to Gaul, the user running the bot is using a vulnerability to Facebook's security, which was published in 2020. Arrangements were made to fix it. Facebook's weak point, however, is that it allows anyone to access the phone number linked to each Facebook account across the country. It was used to create a database of Facebook user accounts and their mobile phone numbers, which are now being sold through bots.

This is not the first time that concerns have been raised about how Facebook protects users' data, especially mobile phone numbers. Earlier in 2019, it was reported that the mobile phone numbers of about 490 million Facebook users were found on a secure server, which the company acknowledged at the time. It was said that it was a problem and later it was fixed.
